First Hair Cut

Last Saturday (20 June), Mummy brought me to a hairdresser meant for children to trim my hair. It was at United Square, just before my lesson at GUG. Mummy said it was an expensive hair-cut because it cost $20 and I trimmed a teeny weeny bit of my fringe and also the hair at the back only. But well, since it's my virgin cut, she said "Nevermind." Mummy said by trimming off the ends, my hair will be healthier and will grow faster too. Can't wait for my hair to be as long as my Mummy's! Oh yes, I took some photos, but I think you can't really tell from these pictures.

Things I do at home

What is my usual day like? Err... Now that I've learnt to walk, I will practice walking around the house. I walk around the living room, dining room, kitchen and rooms. In the video, you will see Grandma getting me out the way.

Other than walking, I play with Junior or with my soft-toys. I have lots of them... my latest - A Saint Bernard. Grandpa bought it for me because he knows I just love these cuddly toys.

Drinking from a cup

Mummy is so happy that I have finally learnt to drink from a straw cup. Mummy is still trying to teach me to hold my own milk bottle and to feed myself. Gee, I think I still enjoy being fed. Give me a teeny weeny bit of time and I will do it, okay?

More walking...

Birthday celebration with Mummy and Daddy

Celebrations continued at home...

My first steps

Yay, yay, yay! I can walk now! Yes, all by myself, at exactly my 1 year mark! Mummy was so excited that she grabbed the camera to film me in action, but she took the video in the wrong direction. Mummy said she will take another video of me.

Milestones at ONE

Mummy and Daddy were thrilled that I am starting to walk. In fact, I am walking a lot more today. Yes, today - on my birthday! I am now able to walk at least 5 steps on my own, without having to hold on to anything. Mummy and Daddy were so proud of me that they couldn't stop praising and kissing me, saying "Well done, Ariel!"

Oh yes, I now have 4 teeth. 2 on the top and 2 on the bottom jaw. Not bad, right!

Hmmm... can I speak? Not really, but these are some of the words in my dictionary.
1. Ma-ma
2. Pa-pa
3. Na-na (as in banana)
4. kad-kad (as in scared, scared. I will hit my chest and say this to show I am afraid)
5. mo-mo (as in Elmo)
6. Bo-bo (as in ball, ball)
7. Bir-bir (as in bird, bird)

One!

I am ONE today! Happy Birthday to me!

Actually Mummy and Daddy organized a huge celebration for me last Saturday. Wow, there were so many people, I actually felt a little shy. Mummy and Daddy also engaged a birthday entertainer who did magic tricks and made balloon sculptures for all my little friends.

As for today, I enjoyed the day tremendously because Mummy and Daddy spent the day with me. and we had lots of fun together. They brought me to East Coast Park for breakfast at Macdonald and I cycled on my new bicycel (a birthday gift from Auntie Iris and Uncle Bernard). I also had some fun on the beach with the sand and the waters.

Back home, Mummy and Daddy had a mini celebration for me - they sang the birthday song and we cut the cake for the second time. Thank you, my dearest Mummy and Daddy. Ariel LOVES U!

I will show you the pictures of my birthday celebration soon, okay. Be patient!

Melbourne : A day at St Kilda Beach

Sunday - our last day in Melbourne. We spent the whole day at St Kilda Beach. Early in the morning, we took Tram 96 all the way to St Kilda. The place was beautiful. We ate some expensive (cost $AUD20) but really delicious churros (which came with 2 types of dips - dark chocolate and caramel!). You could see from the pictures that I was actually sleeping, but woke up the moment the churros arrived. Must be the aroma of the food which woke me up! After filling our stomach, we went to Luna Park - a theme park meant for kids. Though I could not take any of the rides, I enjoyed my time there. After that we took a stroll along St Kilda Pier. Wow, we saw lots of birds and my favourite animal - DOGS! It was a really nice walk because the weather was really cool. Mummy even bought a new scarf from one of the shops because she felt cold. Mummy and Daddy were afraid I would be cold too and kept using the blanket to cover my feet, but naughty me, I kept kicking it off me.

Watch me have fun at the theme park...

Melbourne : Our visit to the Museum

Mummy bought me different kinds of yummy biscuits from the supermarket (Coles) and you would see me eating whenever I am in my stroller.

Melbourne : The Great Ocean Road, here we come!

Friday - our 5th day in Melbourne. How fast! We would go back home to Singapore on Monday, so that meant another 4 days left in Australia. I've enjoyed myself with Mummy and Daddy and wished we could have a longer time together.

Uncle took time off from work to accompany us. We had an exciting day ahead as we would be driving about 4-5 hours to the Great Ocean Road to see the Twelve Apostles! What are these about? Well, you shall see later...

Before we set off, Mummy, Daddy and Uncle had a sumptuous breakfast.

I was playing "Peek-a-Boo" with Mummy.

We started our journey at 9am. Uncle and Daddy took turns to drive. Mummy and Daddy praised me for being a good girl throughout the journey. You know why? Because I slept most of the time when we were on the road.

We took short breaks along the way. Our first stop was to check out the lighthouse.

Daddy couldn't resist planting a kiss on my rosy cheeks!

These were some of the things we saw along the way. I heard Mummy and Daddy saying how beautiful the scenery was. Well, I didn't see much... as you know, I was sleeping!

We stopped for lunch at Apollo Bay. The weather was so nice, so we decided to have a picnic. Cool!

"Where is my Mummy?" I asked. Mummy has gone to buy some yummy Fish and Chips.

"Ma ma!" I called and pointed out to Mummy who had bought the food. After lunch, we started our drive again. We drove for another 2 hours before we finally ARRIVED at our destination at 4pm. Take your time to admire all the pictures we took.

I became restless and Mummy placed me on the bench so I could move about for a while.

After taking a stroll at the Twelve Apostles Park, it was time to head back."Bye, bye!"
