Blisters on my leg from HFMD outbreak. |
We heard so much about the dreaded HFMD, about how children suffered when they are hit by the virus, but we do not know how bad it is till I was down with it.
On Sat (2 Oct 2010), I came home in the evening with high fever of 39 deg. Mummy and Daddy was so worried and sponged me. Next morning, the fever was still high. Daddy found blisters on the soles of my feet. Daddy and Mummy felt suspicious and brought me to see a doctor, who confirmed it was really the HFMD. I was given MC for 10 days! To go back to school, I had to see the doctor again to make sure I was really fine, so I won't pass it on to the other kids in school.
The next few days which followed were really bad. Many, many, many more blisters appeared on my legs and hands and ulcers popped out in my mouth. True like what many have described, I had problems eating as it was so painful. Drinking milk was a pain too. Vanilla ice-cream was good.. and I ate quite a lot of it.
This lasted for 3 days before I became better. But I passed on this dreaded disease to my Daddy! When I recovered, it was his turn to suffer :(

Hey, just saw your comment on this. Oh dear.. So it was almost the same timing Aldan and Ariel caught the HFMD. Wah! Terrible right. I was so worried of getting infected. My hubby had it pretty bad. Lots of painful ulcers and he couldn't eat. There were also lots of blisters on his feet.
