Ariel says "ARIEL!"

I am fast becoming a talkative girl. Besides "Amen", I have learnt to say my own name "Ariel"! Isn't that an achievement? I am so proud of myself. In fact, I call out my name with such vigour, and I will swing my head backwards too..

Oh yes, Papa has taught me some sign languages - "thank you" and "sorry". In the video, you will see me do the hand sign for "thank you'.

And here's sharing with you one of my conversations with Mummy

Mummy asked "What is your name?"

I answer "Aaaa-Riel!"

Mummy asked again "What is my name?"

I replied confidently "Ma Ma!"

Daddy then asked "What is my name?"

I chuckled "Ma Ma" (and let out a cheeky grin!)

Mummy would correct me "No, say Pa-pa". And I repeat after her "Pa-pa!"

Ariel says "Xie Xie"

I have learnt to say "Xie Xie" ("Thank You" in Mandarin). Everyone at home makes me say that before they give me anything.

More about Phuket

We managed to do quite a bit of things within the 3 days at Phuket, like

i) Shopping!
We shopped at the shops along Patong Beach, at Jungceylon Shopping Complex and also at the Factory Premium Outlets.

ii) Swimming
Daddy and Mummy brought me swimming... and as I haven't swum for a long time, I was really quite scared when I had go into the waters. My fists were clenched and I kept clinging to Daddy and telling him "No more" - as in telling him I did not want to continue with swimming. But Daddy and Mummy were very patient and kept assuring me and gave me lots of toys like balls, rubber duckies etc to make me feel more comfortable.

iii) Elephant Ride and Monkey Show
I took an elephant ride. Yes, on a real elephant which is SO huge and SO tall! We were told that the elephant is already 35 years old. We also watched a Monkey Show. The monkey performed for us like cycling, doing push-ups, doing sit-ups, swimming, playing basketball, etc. It was really interesting. But hmmm... I think I still prefer dogs!

Watch the few video clips I have prepared for you.

Sorry, you have to tilt your head to watch this video.

Weekend getaway to Phuket

We - Daddy, Mummy and I zipped off on a short weekend gateaway to Phuket from 26-28 Sep. The flight was a short one of about 1.5 hours, nothing compared to the long flight to Melbourne. So I was definitely able to manage.

We stayed at Holiday Inn Resort, which is at Patong Beach. Mummy said she chose this hotel because it is child-friendly. Indeed it is!

Our room was spacious and comfortable and we were all very satisfied.

We took the afternoon flight. So by the time we arrived and checked-into our hotel room, it was already early evening. We did not do much, except taking a stroll along the shops at Patong Beach and eating the first Thai dinner - Tom Yam soup and Phad Thai. Yummy! But as I was tired by dinner time, I was cranky and uncooperative. So Mummy and Daddy couldn't have a peaceful dinner and had to spend time pacifying me.

New achievements

I am a "big" girl and there are many new things I have learnt to do, like

(1) Wiping the floor

(2) Running on the treadmill - make a guess who I am modelling after?
