What's school like?

I've been going to school for more than 1 week.

New school, new teachers, new friends, new timing, taking school-bus .... so many new things to get used to. A PAT for myself for doing well! :)

Day 1 (3 Jan 2011)
Mummies and Daddies were allowed to stay in school with us for Day 1 and Day 2.   For the first 2 days, school was from 8.15am to 10.15am, instead of 11.15am.

At 6.45am, Mummy woke me up to get me ready for school. I was given some milk, she cleaned me up and changed me into my uniform.  I was blurry-eyed at first, but got excited at the thought of going to school.  I kept telling Mummy, "Mummy come in to class with me, right?"

At 7.30am, we were at the bus-stop to wait for my school bus.  How early! In the past, I could sleep in till 10am and head to school which started at 10.30am!  We waited and waited, and no signs of the bus. Mummy and Grandma became anxious... Then at 8am, Mummy decided that we should wait no more.  We called for a cab and headed to school on our own. Mummy complained that the taxi fare cost $10! for a 7 min long journey.

When we arrived in school, there were already many children and their parents crowding outside and inside the school.  Teachers checked our temperature, our hand and feet.  We had fixed cubicles for putting our shoes and bags.  Then we had to go the toilet to wash our hands before going into our classroom.

My Chinese Teacher is called "Mao Lao Shi". She greeted us with a sweet smile. But there were many other teachers around too, to help us "Pre-Nursery" kids settle into school. Mummy sat in with me for a little while and handed me to Mao Lao Shi, and I started wailing.  Soon other kids followed after.  Mummy came back into the classroom to accompany me.  She only left me about half-an-hour before the class ended.  I did cry when Mummy left, but only for a little while and I was fine.

After class, I was excited to see Mummy waiting outside the classroom for me.  We waited again for my school bus, to take a bus back together.  Then we realised we didn't miss the bus in the morning, but the bus was really late.

Well, I enjoyed the bus journey home with Mummy beside me :)

Day 2 (4 Jan 2011)
Mummy and I waited for the school bus together again.  This time we managed to catch the bus.

I was a really good girl on Day 2.  Mummy brought me into the classroom, said bye to me. I cried a short few minutes, then I was fine. Throughout the lesson, Mummy peeped secretly from the outside.  After the class, I proudly told Mummy, "Ariel big girl, didn't cry!"

Day 3 (5 Jan 2011)
I took the school bus all by myself.  Grandma helped me up the school bus. I cried a little only.  Mummy and Daddy later drove to school to take a peep to see how I was coping.  I was in class with "bao bei" beside me and playing on my own, since other of my friends haven't arrived.

After school, I took the bus back on my own.  Mummy picked me up and I was so Happy to see her waiting for me.  For doing well, bought me a Macdonald's Happy Meal!

Day 1 : It took a long time for the children to stop crying.
Finally, some did and lao shi sang some chinese songs with us.

Day 2 : Playing on my own.

This is grumpy me. Too early for any pictures.

This is my new bag. I bring "bao bei" to school everyday.
I also extra clothes and a water bottle.
